Rumours are circulating that Abu Dhabi is about to launch a bid to host an F1 race. Abu Dhabi is already connected to Formula 1 thanks to the new Ferrari theme park being built there.

According to the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, Abu Dhabi is looking to host a Monaco-style street race in 2009. However, Bahrain has reached an agreement with Formula 1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone to host the region’s only Formula 1 race. Despite this, Abu Dhabi have already drwan up plans for a circuit on Yas island.
