Drivers still unhappy with Spa’s pitlane

Spa-Francorchamps has changed since it last hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix – the track boasts a new paddock complex along with changes to the layout itself with run-off areas improved and the Bus Stop chicane reprofiled. However some of the new changes have not pleased everyone.
In July, some of the drivers took to the track during testing. After driving the track, many commented that the pit lane was dangerously narrow, and these concerns have been reiterated by some drivers ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix.
“I am not very happy with the pit lane entrance – it is very narrow,” Felipe Massa explained in a pre-race press conference. “They had a lot of space to do a nice job and they didn’t do it very well.”
“It’s very narrow,” Adrian Sutil agreed. “I think the measurement is exactly two cars and not more – if two cars stop there you couldn’t pass. It’s really, really bad – too narrow.”
