Sale does not affect Sutil’s 2008 race-seat

The sale of the Spyker team will not affect Adrian Sutil’s contract to race for the team in the 2008 season according to his manager.

The young German driver has done well this season. However Vijay Mallya, now co-owner of the team, has declared his interest in two Indian racing drivers, Narain Karthikeyan and Karun Chandhok, leaving the future of Sutil in the balance. Sutil’s manager, Manfred Zimmerman insists, “We have a valid contract for 2008.”

It is likely that Sutil’s team-mate Sakon Yamamoto will not get a racing seat next season. Yamamoto was brought into the team mid-season, mainly for his sponsorship money, after Christijan Albers’ sponsors did not pay up.
