Spa change criticised

The revised pit entry at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit has come under fire from several drivers for being too dangerous. Spa has recently undergone an upgrade with several track changes, and most of the feedback from the drivers has been positive.

However, some drivers have complained that the new pit-lane entry area is too narrow and poses a potential safety hazard. The GPDA has written to the FIA to ask if it can be widened or changed before the track hosts the Belgian Grand Prix on 16th September.

“The problem with the pit entrance is that it is too tight,” Ferrari’s Felipe Massa explained. “If someone comes to a stop here, you can’t pass him – the pit-lane entrance will be completely blocked. That is something we hope they can change.”
