Unofficial photographs of Renault’s new car - the R27 - have appeared on the Internet. The photos were snapped during a ’shakedown’ last week at Silverstone.

The photos show Nelson Piquet Jnr at the wheel on a wet track, with the car in a temporary dark blue and yellow colours. Team members are wearing grey overalls. The most defining features of the new car are a lower nose than predecessors, smaller sidepod air inlets and a new aerodynamic look for the wing mirrors.

Renault trucks around the circuit were painted black and orange. These colours will most likely make it to official status - ING are Renault’s new sponsors and their predominant colour is orange.
