Chitwood: Indianapolis may still host a 2009 race

Joie Chitwood, boss of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, has said that despite not being included on the provisional Formula 1 2009 calendar, there is still a chance that Indianapolis will host a race.

“I still think there is a home for F1 in the US but it is getting the right partner to activate and promote it,” Chitwood told the Indy Star. “That’s a vital component. The door remains open for the future – there continues to be dialogue.”
