Di Montezemolo clarifies his comments

Ferrari’s president Luca di Montezemolo has clarified the comments he made over the vote of confidence given to Max Mosley.

Di Montezemolo initially said that, “I believe that he himself should understand that, at times, it is necessary to say, ‘I must leave this place for reasons of credibility’,” however the Ferrari quickly released a clarification to the comments.

His statement over the matter reads, “Following the statements made to Bloomberg TV and picked up by the other media, Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo wishes to make the following comment: “I am happy that Max Mosley has been re-elected president of FIA. He has done excellent work for Formula 1 in recent years. With regard to the future, it will be entirely up to him to decide if and when he should take a step back.”
