Massa will start from pole position for the Malaysian Grand Prix today. Team-mate Raikkonen completes an all Ferrari front-row, with Jarno Trulli third after the McLaren pair of Kovalainen and Hamilton were penalised for blocking during Q3 in Qualifying.

There is a 20% chance of rain during the 56 lap race, with air and track temperature of 30 and 46 degrees respectively, and 70% humidity.

Lap 1, 56 remaining: Trulli starts on the softer compound tyre, with the Ferrari and McLaren team on the harder compound. Massa holds Raikkonen at bay off the start. The Toro Rosso of Bourdais goes into the gravel. Meanwhile the Williams of Rosberg makes contact with Glock; Rosberg pits a lap later for a new front wing.

54 remaining – Massa begins to pull away from Raikkonen. Glock retires with broken suspension following his contact with Rosberg.

53 remaining – Coulthard complains of understeer due to graining tyres, and is passed by Heidfeld through the final corner after running wide at turn 12. Alonso, having also been passed by Heidfeld during his manoeuvre on Coulthard, then passes the Red Bull into Turn One.

51 remaining – The Force India of Sutil parks up on the grass, and goes into retirement. The Toyota of Trulli is going well and the Italian is putting pressure on fifth placed Lewis Hamilton.

47 remaining – The two Ferraris are slowly pulling away from the rest of the field although Massa is unable to shake Raikkonen who remains around 1.6 seconds behind his Brazilian team-mate.

41 remaining – The Ferraris lap the first back marker of Nico Rosberg.

40 remaining - Webber pits, releasing Hamilton. Webber rejoins in traffic in twelfth place.

39 remaining – Massa pits as Raikkonen completes the fastest lap of the race so far.

38 remaining – Raikkonen pits for 7.9 seconds and emerges ahead of team-mate Massa. Kubica now leads the race, ahead of Hamilton.

37 remaining – Hamilton pits and mechanics found difficulty fitting the right front. The McLaren driver was stopped for 19.9 seconds. The stop drops the Brit behind Webber in eleventh position. There was a surprising amount of brake dust from the wheel drums as the wheels were changed.

36 remaining – Kovalainen pits for harder compound tyres.

35 remaining – Kubica pits and rejoins in third.

34 remaining – Alonso pits from fourth and rejoins twelfth.

30 remaining – Trulli is just 0.8 seconds behind Kovalainen in fourth, and looking the faster car during this phase.

26 remaining – Massa spins into the gravel at Turn Seven and beaches the Ferrari. The Brazilian retires. The car switched ends too quickly to correct, and in a part of the track where he would not usually expect oversteer.

18 remaining – Raikkonen pits and rejoins in second behind Kubica.

17 remaining – Webber pits and once again releases Hamilton. The Australian rejoins in eleventh. Kubica continues to lead the race for BMW Sauber.

16 remaining – Trulli pits from fourth. Vettel retires with another engine failure for Toro Rosso.

15 remaining – Heidfeld clears Webber during his pit stop, Alonso also pits and rejoins in tenth.

14 remaining – Kubica pits and rejoins in third.

12 remaining – Hamilton emerges from the pits into fifth place ahead of Heidfeld.

11 remaining – Kovalainen stops for his final pit stop.

9 remaining – Hamilton begins to close down Trulli for fourth position, taking a second from the Italian’s lead with every lap with a gap of 5.2 seconds.

7 remaining – Alonso is catching Webber at over four tenths of a second per lap for seventh.

5 remaining – The gap between Trulli and Hamilton is down to 2.6 seconds, but on the last lap Hamilton was unable to cut the gap.

3 remaining – Hamilton reduces the gap to Trulli once more, now down to just 1.7 seconds despite Trulli setting a number of personal best sector times.

2 remaining – The gap between Trulli and Hamilton is down to 0.6 seconds. Button runs wide on the marbles but rejoins.

Final lap - Raikkonen secures his second career victory at the Sepang circuit. Kubica finishes second ahead of Kovalainen. Hamilton was unable to overhaul Trulli for fourth. Behind them, Heidfeld, Webber, Alonso, Coulthard and Button complete the top ten.
