Renault F1’s R28 car ran in public for the first time this morning at Jerez in Spain with ex-champion Fernando Alonso at the wheel.

The team’s plans were delayed when thick fog descended on the circuit, causing it to be shut for several hours. Eventually, Alonso was able to take Renault’s 2008 Formula One car onto the track around noon.

The car will officially be launched on January 31st.
