Senna plays down F1 rumours

Bruno Senna is playing down rumours that he will be in Formula One next season. The 24-year old, who is the nephew of the F1 driver Ayrton Senna, has been linked to several teams, most notably BMW – Gerhard Berger is a long-time friend of the Senna family and is also Senna’s guardian in motor sport and it has been claimed that he has been in discussions with BMW motorsport director and former colleague Mario Theissen over the future of the Brazilian driver.

However Senna, who is currently second in the GP2 standings, is playing down the F1 rumours. “I honestly don’t know where these rumours came from,” he said in an interview with GPWeek. “There is really nothing going on for the moment.

“Obviously it is great to be linked with a move to Formula One and all these great teams but there rumours have been going on forever.”

senna will be in F1 next season but possibly a testing role with the possibility of stepping into someones shoes if they are performing badly. maybe Williams (nakajima), BMW (heidfeld), Ferrari (kimi early retirement). possibly only torro rosso would offer a race seat. marketing wise the senna name in F1 would be hugely benificial to a smaller team. time will tell.
