Hello Doug,

I completely agree - it is always difficult to read anything into testing (see my article <a href="http://www.forumula1.net/2008/f1/f1-news/how-much-can-fans-read-into-raikkonens-pace/" rel="nofollow">HERE</a> for example).

But I definately think Hamilton has been sand-bagging at the previous tests where Kovy has had the advantage.

It looked like Ferrari were running both Raikkonen and Schumacher on very similar testing regimes, the drivers completed 82 and 83 laps respectively. So I think Raikkonen's small advantage over Schumacher was genuine.

But yes, I don't for a moment think Hamilton has the fastest car on track, just that it is a lot closer than people were predicting after seeing Ferrari's pace at Bahrain.

I don't kow what all the fuss is about. It's testing. We don't know anyone's fuel load, how the cars were set up, anything. It might be good for Lewis' ego and moral, but there are too many unknowns here to suddenly decide that Lewis has the fastest car on track.
