Toyota boss Tadashi Yamashina will not be attending this weekend’s race at Magny-Cours. Yamashina has said that although he would like to be trackside for the race, he has to attend a stockholders meeting in Tokyo, although he will be watching the race on TV and calling his team to make sure everything runs smoothly.

“Actually, there was a long discussion because I really, really wanted to be in France,” Yamashina explained. “I am sorry to miss this race but I will watch everything from Magny-Cours on TV.

“I will be supporting the team from a distance and calling the team regularly to find out how we are doing.”
