Villeneuve: I would love to race in F1 again
Filed Under: F1 News
Jacques Villenueve has admitted that he would love a return to Formula 1. Having finished second at Le Mans last weekend, the Canadian has said to Italian magazine, Autosprint, that he would love to make an F1 comeback.
“I am open to the idea, certainly with the new technical situation. To be honest, I have no idea if it would be possible though.
“I have never given up hop of re-entering Formula 1. I have driven in other series but that was only because there were no free seats in F1.
“If the chance came up again, certainly with the new regulations, I would love to get back to work.”
Villeneuve has raced in 165 F1 Grand Prixs between 1996 and 2006 and has 11 race wins to his name. In 1997 he won the drivers’ championship whilst driving for Williams.

Villeneuve would do really well with the new regulations and a good car.

Hmm..Jacques always expressed his dislike for electronic aids that allowed ‘kids’ to get into F1 and drive the cars and ‘auto correct’ driver mistakes, thereby reducing the need of driver skill in the sport.
Having said that it would be interesting to see he really does have the skill or was that Williams really that good that it was the car rather than the driver that won the Championship!
Imagine JV in a Ferrari replacing Massa or in a Renault replacing NP or maybe in a RedBull bye bye DC!!
Just some food for thought!
