Schumacher would have done a much better job than rusted Badoer, even Gene was a better choice, this time Montezemolo failed in his decision.

This was a wrong decision from the git go. Schumacher would have had the same level of rust as Badoer and would not have faired much better. Ferrari could have got Bourdais who was current as well as the poisoned one, Piquet but chose to do the grand stand thing with MS.
Too bad for Luca. Ten yrs of loyal work gone not so much as a result of his actions but actions of the team that put him in an untenable situation and doomed to fail.
