Hamilton awarded Melbourne podium
Lewis Hamilton has been awarded third place in today’s Australian Grand Prix after Jarno Trulli was penalised for overtaking the McLaren driver during a safety car period.
A post-race investigation by the stewards resulted in Trulli being reprimanded with a 25 second time penalty for overtaking Hamilton under the final safety car period.
Toyota have announced their intention to appeal the decision.
