Merc let slip details of quarrel with McLaren
Mercedes Benz have finally given an insight into what is reportedly leading them to invest heavily in another team apart from McLaren.
The German carmaker is expected to announce a significant tie-up with the Brawn team soon, and many commentators have been left mystified by the motivation for such a switch. But today Mercedes Benz-owned Daimler boss Dieter Zetsche said that McLaren and Mercedes had fallen out over plans for a new supercar.
“For a long period we had a lack of alignment on road cars, but we have now found a clear solution and we won’t participate,” he is reported as saying by the Autocar website.
Mercedes have instead unveiled their own supercar today, the SLS. They have previously co-operated with McLaren on roadcar projects.
Zetsche went on to say that its partnership with McLaren would be redefined by its new deal with Brawn, but that it would not come to an end.
“Ending the relationship is not an option but we may have a different relationship,” he added.
McLaren will be dismayed by the reports emanating about Mercedes’ opinion. The organisations have shared a great deal of success and the Woking-based team will be loth to share Mercedes’ expertise – and its money – with a rival team.

hmmmm…..dennis “decides” to move aside from the F1 involvement…..Dennis announces that he will be “more involved with the production car manufacture”, and now this is announced!? How about Mercedes were SO unhappy about the way McIdiots LOST the 2007 DOUBLE CHAMPIONSHIP by giving a rookie equal treatment to a DOUBLE WORLD CHAMPION!!! was tantamount to BUISNESS SUICIDE!!!! and this is Mercedes letting you know that they have been taken advantage of for too long!!!!!? and Hamiltons “Im the new Ayrton” routine was so predictable from McLaren!!!!Some of us saw it coming 3 years before it actually happened!!!To measure Lewboy against Alonso was the only reason moRon poached Alonso from Renault at the end of 2005!!! Dennis already had it in his head that Hamilton was going to partner Alonso for 2007!!! Now he reaps what he sowed!!!! failure and oblivion!

tEQUILLA sLAMMER, what are you talking about? Do you know anything about F1?
Alonso JUST finished on the same points as Hamilton – and the double world champion was pretty consistently outqualified and outraced by the rookie driver.
The constructors title was lost due to the spying scandal that Alonso helped to expose – backstabbing his team in the process. Hamilton was in no way connected to this.
Get your facts straight you muppet.

At last some one who knows summat about F1. Well done Bennepe. tEQUILLA sLAMMER are you female. You must be watching a different channel when F1’s on Its moved from ITV to BBC now, your probably watching Emmerdale. Hamiltons the most talented driver I’ve ever seen in over 20 years of watching the sport. He skinned every team mate he’s ever had including the Double world champion Alonso. He should be double world champion at any rate. People in the Know who’s the greatest. tEQUILLA sLAMMER your just not in the Know. Ron Dennis is, was and always will be a Genius who has had more Champions than any other team boss, Senna, Prost, Lauda, Hakkinen. I’m pretty sure he knows proper talent when he sees it. And he saw it in Hamilton, Cos he’s not blind.
Enjoy your Emmerdale
