Vatanen: Renault should not be banned

FIA presidential candidate Ari Vatanen says that Renault should not be thrown out of Formula One for their involvement in the race-fixing scandal.

Renault’s future will be decided by the FIA on Monday at a World Motorsport Council hearing in Paris. The French team will not challenge the allegations made by Nelson Piquet Jnr. that they ordered him to crash his car deliberately in last year’s Singapore Grand Prix to help Fernando Alonso win.

Barrichello wants “good healthy fight” with Button

bgp001-12Rubens Barrichello says he is looking forward to a “good healthy fight” with Jenson Button for the world championship after heading a Brawn 1-2 in Sunday’s Italian Grand Prix.

The Brazilian veteran had the measure of his Brawn teammate throughout the race as the two drivers used a one-stop race strategy to leapfrog Lewis Hamilton, Kimi Raikkonen and Adrian Sutil, and secure the team’s fourth 1-2 finish of the season.
