According to German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, two journalists have claimed that Massa knew the punishment Alonso was to receive for his part in the pit-lane fiasco of Hungary an hour before the stewards made their decision public.
Following news that Montezemolo wants his team to have self belief so that they can win the remaining races of the season, it seems Massa has answered his call and believes Ferrari are capable of fighting back.
Despite Silverstone being one of Massa’s best drives so far this season, Massa is still haunted by the race. Felipe Massa is impressed and happy with the new F2007 that he tested at Barcelona last week. The F2007 has already been one of the cars to beat this season and Massa has said that the recent updates to the car have made a significant difference in pace, concurring with Kimi Raikkonen’s opinion of the new setup.
Felipe Massa thinks that it is only luck that he has been missing this season. Massa is currently lying in fifth place in the 2007 championship, 11 points shy of early leader Fernando Alonso.
“I feel that something is missing at the moment,” Massa said. “A bit of luck here - now hopefully we can put everything together.”
