Button ends Jerez test on top

Jenson Button ended the final day of testing at Jerez on top, as the team’s enjoyed their first rain-free session of the week.

Button: Ferrari on top at the moment

Jenson Button believes that Ferrari has the fastest car out of all of the front runners, after the first day test day of the week at Jerez.

The Englishman, speaking at the McLaren launch directly to forumula1.net, said that although he would have loved to race against Ayrton Senna it would nevertheless be very special to go wheel-to-wheel with Schumacher.

With two world champions in the team, many believe sparks may fly at McLaren this season. However Jenson Button has said that the pair will work together and overcome any rivalry off-circuit to ensure the team has the best possible chance of winning the championship.

Button looking forward to first season with McLaren

Current F1 world champion Jenson Button has revealed that he is more fired up than ever.

“Obviously, my aim is to keep the number one on my car for as long as possible,” Button commented on McLaren’s website.

Button awarded an MBE

Jenson Button has been awarded an MBE by the Queen. “To be recognised by Her Majesty The Queen and the British people is a tremendous honour for me,” The F1 World Champion commented.

“The past 12 months have provided me with such an exhilarating journey. We literally started with nothing, but had the belief, determination and passion to take on the world and succeed.

Have McLaren shot themselves in the foot or played a blinder?

He walks away from Brawn, shortly to be renamed Mercedes GP, to drive alongside compatriot Lewis Hamilton in a team which is divorcing the very same German carmaker. Button and Brawn still in deadlock over pay

It is rumoured that Jenson Button was paid £3 million in 2009 and he is looking for a pay package around £6-£8 million for the 2010 season. The trouble over his pay demands have paved the way for rumours that the Brit may be leaving the team in favour of McLaren.
