Raikkonen: Pit-stop error was my fault

Kimi Raikkonen has admitted that his disastrous pit-stop which saw him injure the refuelling mechanic was entirely his fault. The current F1 world champion moved from his pit box too early whilst the fuel nozzle was still attached to his car. His actions caused the mechanic to be hit by both the refuelling rig and the rear tyre of Raikkonen’s car.

Kimi Raikkonen and FerrariFinland’s postal service will be celebrating the success of Kimi Raikkonen, the current Formula 1 world champion, by commissioning a special sheet of stamps in his honour.

The Finnish driver is well-known for his partying antics and lack of rapport with the media. Raikkonen has revealed that winning the title will not change his approach to either his partying, or his relationship with the media.

Given the intensity of the drama off the track over the past fortnight you’d be forgiven for feeling a bit deflated after witnessing the action on it.
