Polish driver Robert Kubica is looking forward to this weekend’s race in Montreal, Canada. The Gilles Villeneuve circuit is a ‘medium downforce’ circuit with a mix of long straights and chicanes. Small errors are punished as crash barriers are situated fairly close to the track and there aren’t large run-off areas.

Robert Kubica is the latest in a series of drivers to say that F1 is not missing the presence of recently retired driver, Michael Schumacher. Kubica has stated that after the first round of the 2007 season, there are still the same amount of cars to beat.

Robert Kubica is looking forward to testing in Barcelona at the end of November. He says he welcomed the short break away from Formula 1 but can’t wait to get back behind the wheel. “One month without driving is just a bit too much,” he explained. “The short break was, however, good because during the last two or three months, I took part in every testing session. Additionally, the last three races of 2006 took place in overseas locations”.
