Wurz confirms he has no interest in racing again

Alex Wurz made an unexpected comeback to Formula 1 earlier this month, taking up a testing role within the Honda team. Having retired from the William’s team and Formula 1 after last year’s Chinese Grand Prix, at the time Wurz said “In such a hard fought environment as Formula One, I have always maintained that if you have a moment’s doubt about what you are doing, then it is time to stop,” leading many to believe that he would pursue other interests, perhaps in other motor sport leagues.

Wurz retires & won’t be racing in Brazil

Alex Wurz has confirmed that he will be retiring from Formula 1 racing and that his last competitive race in the sport was the Chinese Grand Prix.

Wurz Celebrates 10 Years

At this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, Alex Wurz will celebrate his ten year anniversary in Formula 1. After spending a few years as test driver for McLaren and Williams, Wurz returned to the Formula 1 grid this season, scoring his first points at Monaco.

Wurz: Rosberg is stronger

Alex Wurz has admitted that his team-mate Nico Rosberg is currently the stronger driver in the Williams team. Wurz returned to the Formula One grid this season having spend the last six years as a test driver.

Wurz on McLaren

Alex Wurz has stated that he believes Alonso will bounce back from his current clump in form in the next few grands prix. Alonso has had a tough few races, being beaten by not only Ferrari, but also his teammate, Lewis Hamilton. With the spotlight firmly on the youngster rather than himself, Alonso is believed to be slightly irked.

Wurz - it was a lucky escape for F1

Sebastien Vettel has stated that he believes that the shunt between Coulthard and Wurz could have easily been F1’s worst moment since 1994’s Imola weekend.

David Couthard followed Wurz into a corner too quickly; Coulthard hit Wurz’s Williams’ and then was catapaulted over the front of the Williams, missing Wurz’s face by an estimated 15cm.

Wurz isn’t expecting to win

Alex Wurz, returning to Formula 1 racing after 6 years as a test driver, is not expecting to win a race for his team, Williams, in 2007. “That is asking too much,” he stated. “But if everything goes to plan, we want to score points off our own back and on a good weekend aim for the podium.”
