Klien summoned for military service

Ex-Formula 1 driver Christian Klien has been called up for military service.

It seems that being an F1 driver does not make you immune from national service – the 24 year old driver, who lives in Switzerland for tax purposes, sent officials a letter arguing that he was exempt from serving. Unfortunately officials did not agree with him and the former Red Bull driver has been informed that he must fulfil the six-month military service that all able-bodied Austrian young men are required to do.

Klien believes in Honda

Honda haven’t started off the 2007 season in the way that they had expected. Both drivers have had a poor run of results. Rumours say that both drivers are looking for way out of the team, although in public, they are fully supportive. Test driver Christian Klien has now joined Button and Barrichello and added his public vote of confidence in his team.

Klien - Honda or Spyker?

Christian Klien is still looking for a seat in Formula 1 next season. He has had several meetings with Spyker in a bid to become Christijan Alber’s team-mate however he is also talking to Honda in a bid to become their test driver. Klien is interested in taking over from Anthony Davidson, who looks set to partner Takuma Sato at Super Aguri in 2007.

Klien to return to F1 in 2007?

Christian Klien looks set to continue his F1 career in 2007. The Austrian, who was dropped by Red Bull Racing following a disagreement with team management after the Italian Grand Prix, travelled to the Brazil to discuss the possibility of an F1 drive with several teams.
