GP2 star Bruno Senna is giving nothing away about his negotiations to secure a seat in Formula One next year as rumours about the Brazilian’s future, as well as Toro Rosso’s 2009 driver line-up, continue to mount.

Scuderia Toro Rosso showed off their new STR3 car on-track for the first time today. It comes as no surprise that the STR3 shares many similarities with Red Bull’s RB4, including a similar airbox fin and front wing.

Toro Rosso’s new car, the STR3, has made it’s track debut. The Newey-designed car was shaken down on the Vairano circuit in Italy by Red Bull junior driver Brendon Hartley. Ordinarily, either of Toro Rosso’s F1 drivers of Sebastien Vettel or Sebastien Bourdais would have driven the car, however both are preparing for the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Red Bull Racing have set their sights on the much coveted ‘best of the rest’ accolade in 2008. But the launch of the RB4 and its early testing performances suggest that the Milton Keynes based team still have a lot of work to do before Melbourne.

Red Bull owner Dietrich Mateschitz has ended speculation that Fernando Alonso will be racing for Red Bull in 2008.

Vinantonio Liuzzi was handed a 25 second penalty by the Japanese race stewards last weekend after it was deemed he overtook Adrian Sutil under yellow flag conditions. This meant that he was a demoted a place and Toro Rosso lost their only point of the season to the Spyker team. Toro Rosso informed the stewards of their intent to appeal, and it has been confirmed by team boss Franz Tost that the appeal will be going ahead next Friday, 12th October.

It seems Honda are not the only team who forsee problems supplying new cars for the start of the 2008 season – Scuderia Toro Rosso had admitted that they may not introduce their new car until the start of the European races in the 2008 season.

Sebastien Vettel has partly accepted the blame for the first lap accident which saw him lose part of his front wing.

Following on from speculation over the second driver’s seat at Toro Rosso for 2008, it has been confirmed that Tonio Liuzzi has been ousted in favour of Champ Car champion, Sebastien Bourdais. The Frenchman will join German Sebastien Vettel at the helm of a Toro Rosso car in 2008.

Sebastien Vettel made his debut with the Toro Rosso team this weekend, replacing American driver Scott Speed. Vettel had a solid race, finishing 16th overall.
