Senna keeps schtum as queue forms for STR seat

Toro Rosso unveil STR3

Scuderia Toro Rosso showed off their new STR3 car on-track for the first time today. It comes as no surprise that the STR3 shares many similarities with Red Bull’s RB4, including a similar airbox fin and front wing.

STR3 shakedown

Toro Rosso’s new car, the STR3, has made it’s track debut. The Newey-designed car was shaken down on the Vairano circuit in Italy by Red Bull junior driver Brendon Hartley. Ordinarily, either of Toro Rosso’s F1 drivers of Sebastien Vettel or Sebastien Bourdais would have driven the car, however both are preparing for the Bahrain Grand Prix.

Toro Rosso Appeal Set for 12 October

Vinantonio Liuzzi was handed a 25 second penalty by the Japanese race stewards last weekend after it was deemed he overtook Adrian Sutil under yellow flag conditions. This meant that he was a demoted a place and Toro Rosso lost their only point of the season to the Spyker team. Toro Rosso informed the stewards of their intent to appeal, and it has been confirmed by team boss Franz Tost that the appeal will be going ahead next Friday, 12th October.

Mixed emotions at Toro Rosso

Sebastien Vettel made his debut with the Toro Rosso team this weekend, replacing American driver Scott Speed. Vettel had a solid race, finishing 16th overall.
