Yamamoto pleased with progress

Sakon Yamamoto is pleased with the progress he has made in the last few weeks. The Japanese driver made his debut with the Spyker F1 team at the Hungarian Grand Prix three weeks ago, however his performance was less than impressive.

Spyker’s B-spec car debut delayed

The Spyker B-spec car was due to make it’s debut at this weekend’s Turkish Grand Prix. However the car failed a rear-impact test last week meaning it’s debut has had to be postponed. The car will be re-tested next week and the team are confident it will pass and will be able to make its debut at the next race in Italy.

Mol confirms interest in Spyker F1

Businessman Michiel Mol has confirmed he is interested in buying the Spyker F1 team. Last week, Mol resigned as CEO of the Spyker roadcar company to prevent a conflict of interest after the Spyker roadcar company announced they were looking to sell off the F1 team to help secure their short-term financial liquidity. Mol’s resignation prompted speculation that he was putting together a deal to buy the Formula 1 team.

Spyker team confident for the future

Spyker Cars NV is considering selling part or all of it’s Formula 1 team as part of a refinancing and strategic review. In a statement, Spyker said that the negative publicity over the state of it’s finances and credit worthiness had forced them to secure additional funds to secure their short term liquidity position and to continue investments.

Spyker announce replacement driver

Spyker have confirmed that Sakon Yamamoto will be racing for the team for the remaining seven races of the 2007 season. Yamamoto is replacing Chrisijan Albers who was dropped by Spyker two weeks ago.

Winkelhock to race at the Nurburgring

After Spyker dropped Christijan Albers a little over a week ago, there was much speculation over who would be taking over his race seat. The speculation has finally ended with Spyker announcing that Markus Winkelhock will be making his Grand Prix debut this weekend at the European Grand Prix at the Nurburgring.

Albers to take legal action?

Christijan Albers is considering taking legal action against Spyker for dropping him from the race line-up mid-way through the season.

SpykerIt appears the speculation over Albers’ race seat has finally ended and Spyker have decided to drop Albers. It seems that Mingya, Albers’ sponsor, did not pay Spyker an agreed amount of money and Spyker have decided to replace the 28 year old driver.

Was Silverstone last race for Albers?

SpykerThere are strong rumours circulating in the F1 paddock that Christijan Albers will not be racing at the European Grand Prix in two weeks time. The Dutchman has had a poor season, consistently being outperformed by rookie driver Adrian Sutil and culminating in an error which saw him leave the pits at the French Grand Prix with a fuel hose still attached to his car.

Trouble at Spyker?

It has been reported in Holland that the largest shareholders at Spyker want to delist the company from the Euronext stock exchange. The move is said to have been proposed because they want to restructure the company.
