Barrichello: Williams must close gap

Rubens Barrichello welcomed his first point of the season – but admitted to be disappointed that his Williams could not challenge further up the order.

Williams sells stake in his F1 team

Frank WilliamsFrank Williams and Patrick Head have sold a stake in their Williams F1 team to an Austrian investment firm headed up by businessman and amateur racer Toto Wolff.

Williams and Head formed Williams Grand Prix Engineering in 1977 and this is the first time the pair have sold equity in the team.

Williams fail to shine in Brazil

Nico Rosberg was frustrated at not finishing in the points for Williams, after gearbox failure forced him to retire from the Brazilian Grand Prix.

The German had been running strongly in the points as had his team-mate, Kazuki Nakajima, until an untimely collision with the Toyota of Kobayashi.

Rosberg happy with wet weather pace

Nico Rosberg was happy with his qualifying performance after Williams’ high-downforce risk paid off.

The German was supreme on the full wet weather tyre and topped the opening two segments of qualifying. However Rosberg later lamented the switch to intermediates which considerable slowed his charge.

Williams formally split with Toyota

Williams have announced they have split with engine partner Toyota for the upcoming season. The Grove-based team have been widely expected to drop the Japanese powerplants, despite a relatively productive three season partnership, and the announcement came today from Sir Frank Williams himself.

Williams intend to use KERS next season

Williams are fully intending to use the controversial KERS system on their 2010 car, they announced today. Earlier this season teams organisation FOTA forced the FIA to drop the obligation to use KERS in 2010, saying that it was too expensive.
