Formula One Management chairman Bernie Ecclestone has said that McLaren essentially committed ”fraud” by lying to stewards in Australia, and that the consequences could be serious for the team.

Lewis Hamilton has apologised for his part in the post-race stewards meeting at which he and McLaren Mercedes’ sporting director Dave Ryan ”misled” the FIA.
