Bridgestone Motorsport heads to the new destination of Singapore and sees the first ever Grand Prix at night for the fifteenth round of the FIA Formula One World Championship, the Singtel Singapore Grand Prix.

Christian Horner, Team Principal at Red Bull Racing, has said that the team’s lack of performance recently is down to tyres.

Ferrari are under no allusions that they must conquer the problems they have been having on their Bridgestone tyres if they are to take the fight to McLaren at Valencia.

The F2008 has been notoriously unkind to the standard issue Bridgestone Potenzas over the course of the single lap, while rivals McLaren have mastered the art of generating heat into their rubber quickly.

F1’s tyre supplier Bridgestone are reported to have asked the FIA to examine the bridge section at Valencia track over fears that it might cause punctures.

Bridgestone have revealed the compound allocations for the last four rounds of 2008 F1 season.

Singapore, Formula One’s first ever night race, will see the super soft and soft compound; The Japanese Grand Prix will see the medium and soft compounds; Hard and medium compounds will be used at the Chinese Grand Prix; Medium and soft compounds will be taken to the final race of the season in Brazil.

Formula One tyre supplier Bridgestone believe that a flat spot on Lewis Hamilton’s left front tyre may have contributed to the puncture which saw the British driver’s chances of victory in the Hungarian Grand Prix slip away.

Ferrari have dismissed fears that the tyre problems they experienced in Hockenheim have reared their head again this weekend after both their drivers struggled on the super-soft tyres in Friday practice.
