Williams, the only F1 team currently not backed by a billionaire or a car manufacturer, have recorded a loss for the second year in a row. Accounts filed on Tuesday have revealed that the team’s losses for 2006 and 2007 total $80 million with the team increasing their bank borrowings to help the team build a strong competitive base.

One face noticably missing from the Spa-Francorchamps paddock yesterday was that of Williams driver Nico Rosberg. The German driver was reportedly at Silverstone, England, where he was sheking down a FW30. The move is slightly unusual because Nico Hulkenberg, the team’s test driver, would normally be expected to complete this sort of task.

Toro Rosso, Williams and Honda have revealed what they believe caused the flash fires which were seen during pit-stops at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
All three teams saw brief flash fires during one of the pit-stops and many initially thought there was a universal problem with the refuelling rig. However Honda have revealed they believe their fire was thanks to the refuelling hose not being fitted squarely onto the car.

Williams driver Nico Rosberg has revealed that he may not stay with the team beyond the end of the season. In an interview with German newspaper Sport Bild, Rosberg was asked whether he would still be at Williams for the 2009 season. “I have a contract,” Rosberg replied. “It is like football though. Take Podolski – he signed a contract for next season at FC Bayern, but will he stay there?”

Team owner and apt businessman Frank Williams has joined the growing number of people with doubts about hosting the British Grand Prix at Donington Park in 2010.
F1 Supremo Bernie Ecclestone and the FIA made the shock announcement last week that Donington had secured a ten year contract to host the grand prix after negotiations with Silverstone collapsed.

The Williams team have revealed that they are refocusing some of their aerodynamics programme from 2009 back to the FW30 in an attempt to raise their performance in the latter half of the season. Williams have had an inconsistent season so far, performing well at some tracks, and badly at others.
